A rebel

This entry is the beginning of what will be addressed this month in detail within the following weeks.

A rebel is a person who rises in opposition or armed resistance against an established government or ruler. I simply state a rebel is a person who resists what is conventional or normal. As decades and centuries past new “norms” are established. For example, in the 1950’s and early 1960’s it was normal for African Americans or Blacks to ride in the furtherest seat on the bus. However, a young tired African American woman, Rosa Parks, became the face and start of a rebellion against the “norm” of African Americans sitting in the rear of the bus. Every rebellion begins with an idea and a person(s) all believing in that idea.

We currently live in a world where the norms of life are changing everyday almost, especially in America. Things considered normal now are; same-sex marriage and relationships, lying to get ahead in your career, cheating, murdering, denouncing God, cursing on primetime television, violence on cartoons and others. You may say now majority of American citizens do not all agree or do these things, thank God, but it is becoming more acceptable. I’m not that old and remember when there were no vulgar language or sexual innuendoes on television. Unfortunately, today if those things aren’t in a television program the show can expect to get cancelled soon.

There has been great rebellions over the centuries that have changed our present generation for the better or worse; the Inca Rebellion, the War of 1812, American Civil War, and Civil Rights Movement. However, the greatest rebellion of all is the one lead by God’s son Jesus the Christ. Jesus came not to abolish the law or the prophets but to fulfill it (Matt. 5:17). The rebellion that was begun by Jesus is getting another boost of fire! We have to choose, who we will serve God or man? What seems right or correct to man is often wrong. Man tells us that disrespecting your parents is okay just don’t murder them. God says, “honor your mother and father…” (Matt. 15:4). Man says zoophile is okay just don’t tell a lot of people. God says, “If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he must be put to death…” (Lev. 20:15).  Man says same-sex relationships and marriage is okay its the same as civil rights movement. God says, “If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable” (Lev. 20:13).

See ya’ll got me preaching 🙂 I seriously want you all to not be afraid to rebel against the “norm”. Jesus never went with the crowds but lead the way to truth and light. So let’s REBEL!
