Do you remember this song? If you’re over 25 years old and listened to rap music in the mid-90’s you know exactly what I’m referring to. The song was definitely not appropriate for young children but the hook was so catchy that mostly everyone knew the chorus. Now my generation is ‘playing house’ more than ever before! The only problem is that it’s not a game and people are playing house as momma and daddy and ultimately playing divorce as well.
Being connected with someone and taking that relationship to the “next” level often leads to a couple living together. So are you playing house or preparing for a house? I don’t just want a ‘house’ I want the entire package!
I recently came across an interesting article of a law in Florida that cohabitation is actually a misdemeanor, punishable up to $500 and jail time. I hear some of you saying I’m glad I don’t live in Florida:) The same penalty is also applied to cheating spouses. The law has been in the books since the late 1800s and only now does a Florida legislator want to repeal the law.
We are living in a time where our “sins”, if you will, are becoming legalized. Therefore, the conviction associated with committing them is almost non-existent. Do values, morals, and simply self-respect exist anymore?
Have a great weekend and make no plans for ‘sleepovers‘ or ‘playing house‘!
Scripture: “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her , ‘You are right when you say you have no husband. The fact is you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband…”(John 4:17-18
